My Radio History

Hi My name is Darrell and my call sign is VE6DDE, I have been a ham for about three years. I started with the basic equipment in the corner of the house which was purchased from eBay and this made up my station. I had a FT-101EX and FT-707 as the first radios with a simple wire antenna. Now my station has grown to six radio's and three antenna's for all bands. I have a 50 foot tower with a TH-6 tribander on the top and the tower is shunt loaded for 160 meters, I also have a G5RV for all the Warc bands including 40-80 meters. I am a retired instructor from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology where a large number of recognized technical and electronic programs are offered. On campus there is a fully working HF radio station and a repeater site. There is also a special part of the campus that is well known for training WAG's (Wireless Air Gunners) during the war.
