D-STAR Self registration instructions
First off, DO NOT register on more than one gateway, as this will cause problems for the network. If you haven't registered on another gateway, follow these instructions to register. It's a 2 part process, and both parts need to be done before you can use the gateway.
To register your call sign with the D-Star Network please follow the steps listed below. Should you have any problems with registration, please send an email to Darrell Dickinson VE6DD@RAC.CA and be sure to include your name, call sign and problem description.
Follow the link to the registration page. You will receive a warning about a problem with the security certificate, and that is being worked on, but for the time being, you can just ignore it and select continue to the website.
Click on the box that says Register, and it will take you to the registration page. Read the agreement, and if you are willing to accept the conditions, click in the YES box, and enter your Call sign in all upper case then your Name, email address and password. Enter your password again to verify it. Write down your password in a safe location, if you lose it, the only option is to delete your account and you’ll have to start all over again. Once you have filled everything in, click on okay, and then tell it yes, you are sure you want to do this. Assuming everything goes okay, you will get a page that tells you that your registration has been submitted.
You can try and log in periodically to see if your account has been enabled, or you can wait for the confirmation email to let you know it has been approved. Once your account is approved, you can log in to the system. You can now enter your personal information. This step is required! Click on the personal information tab on the upper right of the main page. Click on the box next to the number “1” to put a checkmark in it. Enter a space from the space bar in the initial box so that you can use your call sign that you have programed into your radio to get on the gateway. Enter your call sign in the pcname box on the first line, using all lowercase. When complete, click on update, and again tell it you are sure. If all goes well, there will be no red error message at the top of the screen, and your registration will be complete.
